Mr. Z

Steve Zwolak

I have over 55 years of experience and personal reflection as a student of children, teachers, and leaders, advocating for professionals. My work in education and business has enabled me to build an APPROACH, that focuses on Prosocial Skill Development based on Emotionally Responsive Educational practices with Teachers, Leaders and Parents, braiding education and mental health principles. In addition, it integrates developmental concepts of DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion). I focus on a parallel process-helping our leadership hold the hearts and souls of educators, and families, so they can hold the hearts and souls’ children.

My Approach emphasizes that the emotional development and wellness of Educator, Leaders, Children and Families are collectively critical to a child’s as they actualize their own life script.  In addition, there is evidence that my work has the potential to close racial and socioeconomic achievement gap. We know the foundation for diversity, inclusion and equity are embedded in the emotional development of children and students (the earlier the better). I teach teachers that there is major watershed from birth through 5 years of age, where children must begin to internalize and then socialize their understanding of diversity, inclusion, and equity to make it an embedded way of life.

I believe that if children and students are physically safe, they will feel emotionally safe, and then they

can take social risk as they feel socially safe and finally, they will be confident in their own competencies to take academic risk. “All learning happens in relationships”.

I have been recognized locally, regionally, and nationally for my work with children/students, families, educators and leaders.
